Theory test

An important part of the learning to drive process is preparation for the Theory and Hazard perception test. As well as preparing for the tests, you are gaining valuable knowledge about driving safely and should learn more easily.

There are several books and computer DVD’s available; I think one of the best is Driving Test Success from Focus. It is the programme I use when teaching for the Theory test.

It includes the complete DSA bank of questions, and the 10 official DSA sample clips from the Hazard perception test. To practice Hazard perception there are over 300 video clips. There is a version for XP or Vista, and an interactive DVD for use on players.

Do not book your Tests with any other agency. DSA have warned that some agencys are charging a non-refundable fee for their service. If you want to change or cancel your test appointment you will lose the booking fee. Book only with Driving Standards Agency.

 

Check the prices of Driving Test Success. It is often sold for around £10 in computer shops and between £6 and £7 in supermarkets when available. Amazon will be cheaper and delivered to you, but check if there are postage charges. Remember, ordering more items may get free postage.
